Antibiotic resistance is a real thing. But I think this applies to other parts of life as well.
When you do something too much and unconsciously, you develop a resistance to that thing. For example, if you read to the exclusion of everything else, chances are you’ll develop ‘reading resistance’.
I’d call ‘reading resistance’ as a condition in which you stop absorbing what you read, and end up using reading as a crutch to avoid doing important things. The same holds for reading self-help things, or news analyses, or anything else.
To avoid this, mix it up. One day, read… On the other, write… On yet another, listen, speak, and practice… Repeat. This will help not becoming “immune” to the thing that you want to be positively impacted by.
