How to decide what to do?
We create problems for ourselves because peace is, at times, stifling. Andy Matuschak writes: “Independence offers freedom, but it’s also quite limiting”
The problems we create ourselves are rooted not in core issues, but distractions.
These distractions come from status games we play.
Status games are a result of mimetic conflict.
To avoid distractions, status games, and mimetic conflict, ask yourself one question: What matters? To you? To others? To the world?
Once you have these distinctions set, go pursue the one that will give you the deepest contentment.
That’s what you should do.
